Clan members are expected to be online as often as possible. If you will not be online at your regular time please tell an officer ahead of time. This especially applies if you're going on vacation or have become injured. In other words we like to hear from you.
Section I: Achieving the Ranks
Each rank denotes a special part in the clan, each playing a vital role in the upkeep and structuring of the clan in its entirety. A detailed explanation of each of the ranks is as follows:
Recruit
Recruit is the first rank for all new clan members. During this 4 week time period they should become acquainted with clan procedures, meet members, and play supported games. They will be given full use of the clan forums, the ability to participate in clan matches if they wish and given a vote in clan decisions.
Private
After the 4-week time period, the 2 highest-ranking members of the clan and a member ranked Sergeant or higher will review you. You can be reviewed a total of two times before being denied membership. The second review will be held one month to the date after your first review. However, once granted membership into the clan a recruit will be promoted to the rank of Private. A Private is considered a full member of the clan and will be selected over recruits to play in clan matches.
Private First Class
Once an additional twelve weeks have passed a private will automatically be ranked up to Private First Class. During this time period the clan member should have played an active role in the clan and fought in several clan matches. This includes being active in the clan forum, participating in the Zaitzev Training Academy, and providing suggestions for clan match strategies. Members that are Private First Class are recommended to look for other players to join the clan. The PFC should introduce any prospective members to a Sergeant. This is also the first rank to be able to take a specialization in the clan.
Corporal
Candidates are selected by the Sergeants and Master Sergeants for review with the Lieutenants. If all agree, then the PFC will become a Corporal. During this time period the clan member should have played an active role in the clan and fought in many clan matches. Corporals should also take time to investigate improvements that need to be made to our websites and services. Members that are Corporal are recommended to look for other players to join the clan. Corporals may also be given the task to lead practices when deemed necessary by a ranking member. Just like the PFC, the Corporal should introduce any prospective members to a Sergeant.
Sergeant
The rank of Sergeant is achieved much like the rank Corporal. Candidates are selected by the Sergeant Major and Lieutenants for review with the top two officers. If all agree, then the Corporal will become a Sergeant. The rank of Sergeant is given to those who show great promise in the clan; they show they are active in the server, and in the forums. They show themselves as an example of the clan rules and all they represent. Sergeants should give back to the clan according to their skill sets, such as server hosting, image manipulation, or the production of clan videos but not limited to these skills. This promotion gives the ability to help in the recruitment process by taking recommendations and accepting new members into the clan as recruits. The Sergeant will be given various forms of administrative access in order to help the leadership maintain the clan..
Master Sergeant
Candidates for Master Sergeant are decided by the sergeants meaning there should always be a Master Sergeant for every three Sergeants. If a decision between the members is not reached within two hours then a Master Sergeant will be selected by the Officers. Master Sergeant is given to those members who have shown the capability to handle more tasks than a typical Sergeant; they continue to show that they are active in supported games, and in the forums. They have met all of the requirements of the Sergeant. The Master Sergeant will be responsible for being a representative for lower ranking members, ensures communication between officers and enlisted, and helps to acclimate all new members into the clan.
Sergeant Major
Candidates for the rank of Sergeant Major are selected by all of the Officers. The rank is given to those who continue to show that they are active in the server, and in the forums. They have met all of the requirements of Master Sergeant. They have helped in the recruitment process by making the decision to accept new members into the clan as recruits. The Sergeant Major will be given administrative access to the game servers and any additional access as deemed necessary by the clan leadership. In addition to the Sergeant Major will be partly responsible for the planning of clan matches. If the Command Sergeant Major is absent, the responsibilities of that rank will be taken up and shared by the Sergeant Majors.
Command Sergeant Major
The rank of Command Sergeant Major is decided by the membership by a 3/4 vote, to remove the Command Sergeant Major a 3 / 4 vote by all clan members Pvt. and higher is required. They must have met all of the requirements of the Master Sergeant. In addition, they must have served a minimum of 6 months in the clan. A nomination may be held upon the rank being declared open by the Major, and then all members who have served 6 months, up to the rank of Sergeant Major will be listed for nomination. Voting will continue until the least voted are eliminated, leaving the main candidates to vie for the position. CSM is the highest rank before reaching officer level. Holding this position requires a member to work with the officers in order to help make clan decisions. The CSM is considered the disciplinarian. Problems with other members that were not able to be solved are to be reported to the CSM. The CSM will attempt to correct the problem through discussion and report this to the officers. If this fails, disciplinary action will be performed as stated in the clan rules. The CSM will be given administrative access to the game servers and any additional access as deemed necessary by the clan leadership.
Warrant Officer
The rank of Warrant Officer is given to highly skilled and specialized individuals who have served a minimum of 1 year in the clan. They are selected by a majority of Officers. They serve as technical experts, providing valuable skills, guidance, and expertise. Warrant Officers will primarily be responsible for training and preparing members for clan matches through the Zaitzev Training Academy.
Senior Warrant Officer
The rank of Senior Warrant Officer is given to highly skilled and specialized individuals who have served a minimum of 1.5 years in the clan. They are directly selected by Captains and the Major. They serve as technical experts, providing valuable skills, guidance, and expertise. Senior Warrant Officers will primarily be responsible for setting up training schedules and handling all administrative actions in the Zaitzev Training Academy.
Lieutenant
Lieutenants are chosen by the Major and the members at the rank of Captain, with the Major holding 50% of the vote. They are the go-to people for lower ranking members of the clan. If there is a problem with the Server, forums, or anything of that nature inform them. They report directly to the Captain and will be responsible for helping to make clan decisions that are not voted on by the clan as a whole. Lieutenants are to be informed of infringements to clan rules. It is then their duty to discuss this with the Command Sergeant Major, Captain, and Major. Lieutenants will be given administrative access to the Teamspeak server and forums.
Senior Lieutenant
Candidates for Senior Lieutenant are decided by the Lieutenants meaning that there should always be a Senior Lieutenant for every three Lieutenants. Senior Lieutenants are chosen by the top two ranking clan members. Lieutenants will be given administrative access to the game servers and any additional access as deemed necessary by the clan leadership. Senior Lieutenants often have several years of experience in the clan.
Captain
Members who hold the rank of Captain are chosen directly by the top 6 members of the clan. Should there ever be more than one Captain, their responsibilities will alternate at their leisure. Captains are responsible for maintaining clan needs when the Major is unavailable. The Captain is responsible for maintaining the rank structure, ensuring that proper rank ratios are maintained, and is available to handle any large issues with recruitment.
Major
The rank of Major is entrusted to the clan founder and primary clan leader. The Major provides direction to the membership, schedules clan events, moderates forums, does upkeep to the website, and works to maintain proper balance in the rank structure by choosing when it is time for lower ranking members to accept, decline, and Promote/Demote other clan members. It is the primary responsibility of the Major to ensure clan survival.
Section II: Status
In the clan a member can be one of three status levels, which are listed below:
-Active
Active members are online regularly; attend matches, and clan meetings. They post on the forum and are generally seen performing whatever duties they may have.
-Reserve Status
After a clan member is gone for 4 weeks the member will be considered a Reserve and will remain at their current rank. Former members that join |DOS| who resigned under good terms will be welcomed back into the clan with a smaller 2 week recruit period. We already know what to expect from you, therefore a longer period is redundant.
-Retired Status
Circumstances may cause a member to retire, they may as long as their rank is classified as NCO or higher. In this case, the member will be held in Retired status indefinitely or until they return. Those that return will come back with either the same rank or a slightly lower rank depending on clan needs at the time. This decision on ranking will be decided by the top 3 officers.
Section III: Specializations
Clan members, after reaching the rank of Private First Class, may have an opportunity provide additional service to |DOS| while meeting their standard rank requirements. These duties are known as Specializations, which are consistantly adjusted to meet clan needs. These adjustments will be made by the top two ranking officers in accordance with the reccomendations made by the other officers and Senior NCOs'.The current specializations are listed below:
-Propaganda Commissar (Development of Clan Advertisement and Recruitment Information)
-Clan Amabassadors (Gathering information on Leagues and Clans)
-Technical Recruiters (Responsible for maintaining servers and recruitment for supported games.)
-Tactical Intelligence Commissar (Develops tactics for clan matches and scrims)
Clan Rules were last ratified on 2/7/12 by the following |DOS| Members: Keel, Slygathor, Roaddogg, and Sharpshooter, these members were witness to the changes made.
1. Members are required to join the |DOS| forum, have a Steam account, and login to Teamspeak when online.
2. The age requirement for the clan is 17 years unless waived by vote of Officers and Senior Ncos'.
3. Teamkilling out of malice is not allowed and you will protect members from teamkilling in public servers.
4. Commands given by higher ranking officers and enlisted will be followed in practices and clan matches.
5. Members will respect all higher ranking officers and enlisted personnel in this clan, and they will not harass public players either in TeamSpeak or on our forums.
6. Only the highest ranking clan member will speak to the opposing team during clan matches. However, members may congratulate the other team on a good game.
7. Members should attend clan meetings, matches, and practices. When possible, stay until they are over unless a good reason is given. Remember to ask for authorization from a CO to leave.
8. Members may not be in any other gaming organization that has a website, a server , and accepts donations while they are in |DOS|. Non-clan, community based Tournaments may be attended.
9. Matches will be played on a first come first serve basis with rotation. Therefore, everyone gets to play.
10. No glitching, hacking, or showing bad taste while on any server. You will be held accountable for any of these actions.
11. Members will not spam our TeamSpeak channel, spam another clan’s means of communications, nor will they spam another members messaging program.
Ratification
The top four ranking clan members are resposible for ratification and adjustments to the clan rules. Should the top four be unable to attend, succession will be followed down to the rank of Sergeant, until four members can convene. To complete final ratification of the rules, the clan leader must approve the changes.
Practices
Practices will be held once a week in our Public or Private server. The day we meet will be listed on the main page of the website, forums, and teamspeak channel. Officers will rotate command of the separate teams in the server. Practices are only held when in a competition.
Punishment
All infractions of these rules will be corrected by a Senior NCO. If an NCO is unavailable the situation will either be postponed or taken up by an officer.
If an infraction is serious enough it will be dealt with swiftly by the top commanding officer. Instances that qualify include cheating or hacking. The final punishment will be made by the commanding officer. However this decision will not result in a player being kicked from the clan under any circumstance. A decision to kick will be decided with the top 2 Officers and one Senior NCO (Senior NCO is considered ranks of Sergeant Major and Command Sergeant Major). If it is determined that a person does not deserve a kick then a demotion will occur. A demotion consists of having the member reduce the rank on their tags by one rank until infractions have been resolved.
Clan Tag
The appropriate tag to be worn by new members is |DOS|Rct. Player Name. Naturally, as you advance in rank the Rct. will change to a higher rank abbriviation. The full clan tag will be worn at all times and in all games. The rank abbriviation does not have to be worn in games where space is limited or game registration is required. For example in Battlefield 2, your name would appear as |DOS|Player Name, but in a Source game, your name would include rank and tags, such as |DOS|Rct. Player Name.
Forum Activity
As a member of this clan you are required to be a registered member of the clan forum. Use a valid email address to ensure that you recieve all of the latest information about the happenings in the clan. To be an active member we would like all members to post as often as possible on the forum. However, we do not want you spamming the forums. Lastly, no necro-bumping ancient topics that no longer apply, as it causes the current and important topics to be moved down where they will most likely not be read.
Scrimming
Scrimming is allowed to happen and should happen whenever possible. This should increase the number of random matches that occur during the week.
